Janet Hurst has been raising goats and making cheese, at home and commercially, for twenty years.
She has taught classes and written about cheesemaking for a number of publications and completed the
cheesemaker certification program through the Vermont Institute of Artisan Cheese. In Homemade Cheese, she shares
what she has learned through her own experience and in interviews with the twenty farmstead cheesemakers featured
in the book. Ms Hurst also shares her love for the goats she raises, and writes with tenderness about the long-term
relationship she has developed with her animals.
